be fed

This year, I've started writing a little something for our Outer Circle members - it’s not much, really. Just a small offering to thank them in a special way for the gift of financial security they make possible through their monthly offerings.

In January, I really wanted to send them something that reminded them about the power of their appetite, a direct message that could be counter to all of the other garbage we’re fed during the first month of the year. I wanted it to be sensual, as in having to do with the senses, and I wanted it to be visceral, as in being felt in the body, and so I gave it some time and be fed found its way to the screen. A few short stanzas about the sacred experience of having senses that can tell us everything we need to know about what we crave.

But from the moment I shared it, I knew it wasn’t quite complete. It was like there was more there, like it needed an opening that might remind us why we’ve been taking such tiny bites of this one wild life, and it was many weeks later - while on retreat in Sayulita - where the opening finally found me and I was able to finish what I’d started.

Lucky you, you get the whole thing from beginning to end and it is my hope that it reminds you, too, about how big you were meant to be. I hope it is the invitation you need to drink deep, eat until full, listen for the song, smell with your whole self, and touch as much as you need. So I hope. So may it be
