SOMATIC SESSION
A method of movement created using the principles of Somatic Experiencing that blends repetitive motion with traditional yoga sequencing to create a deep sense of safety in the body, the Somatic Session is unique to Sanctuary. This isn’t yoga. It is a practice that builds heat, teaches us how to stay with the sensation we build, and then leads us to a conscious release of the sensation on the other side. While there is a phsycial benefit to this kind of movement, the real purpose is to create a pathway that can teach us what to do with the way we feel. We practice on our mat what we hope to live when we leave, and this particular practice is all about practicing presense. Designed for every BODY, the Somatic Session is an invitation back to your body and home to yourself.
